The Monaghan Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) has been serving the Monaghan area since 1996. We are a non-profit rescue charity (CHY16545) dedicated to saving unwanted, abandoned and abused animals. We provide rescue, medical care, rehabilitation, and adoption services.

MSPCA Emyvale Shelter, Killydonagh,
Co. Monaghan

Phone: 047-70512 (Shelter/Office)
086-8262885 (Sinead McKenna)
086-8262956 (Lori O'Neill)

Open: Monday to Saturday from 1 to 4 pm and (Sunday by appointment )

The MSPCA requires that all dogs/pups (regardless of size) are house-living pets (meaning they are living and sleeping in the house!) Also, all adopters must have a secure garden/yard to prevent the dog from straying or roaming. Our adoption fee is €120 / £100 to cover vaccinations, spay/neuter and treatment for fleas and worms. If you are interested in adopting any of our rescue dogs, please fill out our Adoption Application (listed under Re-Homing Info on our website). Thanks!

The MSPCA would like to advise that ‘Animal Ark’ do NOT collect money for our rescue.

They have neither animals or a shelter and they have being collecting in Monaghan Town and county claiming they are collecting on behalf of the local rescue. Animal Ark  have a permit to sell scratch cards only, NOT cash donations in a collection bucket.
Please report to the Garda if they ask for money rather than selling scratch cards.
When the MSPCA are fundraising we advertise in the paper, facebook and website and always wear polo shirts with our logo.
